>>2810454Brush clearing, self-defense from homebums and negroid villains, animal killing. It's a full tang wakizashi that I've braided with leather to make a sheathe. With this sword I have so far killed in self-defense two copperheads in my camps, two 5+ feet long timber rattles, two raccoons, and someone's wolf dog.
It's mildly okay at brush clearing, enough that I'm willing to overlook that it's worse than a kukri or machete. It stays sharp enough that it clears off branches really easily, and it's fairly light even though it could be a lot lighter.
The gun is for threats which don't understand the warning of danger. Nobody reasonable who doesn't need to be shot will still fuck with me after I get the sword out, so anyone or anything who still does gets shot if not stabbed. I've had to shoot at several people and animals trying outright to violently attack me within my gun's lifetime so I feel that justifies its weight, it's also not very heavy.
I was trained with firearms throughout my entire life and a .357 revolver is the only handgun I'd carry while living in a backpack. It's too easy and cheap to maintain, ammo for it is all over and inexpensive enough most people will trade some to you for cool rocks/wood.
tl;dr I use everything I listed regularly and I don't mind the weight at all. Wakizashi is really good for snake killing, perfect length.
