There are also coyotes in my neighborhood that are active in broad daylight, and while I don't want to shoot them for a variety of reasons, if they're desperate and hungry enough they might do something silly.
I'm honestly more concerned about my neighborhood than 'out' but it's a pretty minor inconvenience for a huge potential benefit (my dog remaining alive). I'm not at all concerned about humans. And yeah, she's very small. And I just carry a Glock 19, nothing huge or fancy.
