If you catch a massive apex predator fish like a shark or swordfish, limit your servings to once a month (or have a feast with the boys so you can use up the fish). Generally, the least toxic fish you can catch and eat regardless of size or location are sea-run salmon or trout, and pelagic baitfish like sardines and anchovies and their equivalents in lakes as they don't accumulate as much nasty shit (mercury, PCBs, etc) from the food web than more predatory fish and they don't feed on the bottom.
