>>1731805everyone is different. merells and other contemporary hiking boots/shoes (i just think of them as tactical sneakers, both words that make me cringe) perform great and will suit your needs as long as you don't expect them to last more than 3 years with casual usage, and 1 year or less with consistent trail use. otherwise you might tend towards old style combat boots. everything is a compromise. would i recommend the boots you posted? well looking at them i see about 32 different spots where shit can and eventually will peel off and require copious amounts of shoe gum to fix
