>>452758>Soft Sider X 3700>holy shit is it bigI could've told you that (Hydro-Flo 3700 guy again). Sounds just a hair smaller front-to-back than mine and the side-pockets look more spacious. If it holds five standard 3700 boxes left-to-right then you can fit 3600 boxes front-to-back (see article linked at bottom of
>>449558). If you're compulsive about organization like myself maybe then 3600's or slim 3601's might be just what you need.
I don't think I said it above but for the marginal price difference I'm definitely more fond of Flambeau's boxes over Plano's but I'm still totally sold on Plano's bags and have never been disappointed in those. I just yank their boxes out of their bags (they get used for at-home storage) and replace them with Flambeau's as I go. I think my disenchantment started with those little Wal-Mart boxes (3449-22/3450-22) mentioned above. Don't get me wrong, they're fantastic little boxes and I get a few seasons out of them but their clasps break too easily. And to keep being fair I'll make another complaint against Plano: I wish the slim 3601's were divided a bit differently. Most of my hard baits are just a hair bigger than one-slot big in my 3601's but definitely not big enough to justify using up two full slots. This could easily be solved by either increasing the size of individual slots slightly or by introducing more positions for dividers to be placed.
Anyway it sounds like you're big on tackle organization as well. If your Softsider can't fit 3600's like I described I definitely recommend considering it. That or you might do well just using slim 3700's instead. Two Plano slims are a hair taller than one Plano standard and a hair shorter than one Plano deep Based on your listed 3700 boxes I'd bet you could fit seven or eight slim 3700s at least in the main compartment, and if you can fit 3600's you're looking at eight to twelve of those fitting comfortably.
