Poorfag here with the $100 budget.
I was on my way to buy $25 worth of cinder blocks to make a raised bed. I did go to the store, but I ended up going home without the cinder. It must have happened for a reason though because I stopped at goodwill on my way home and scored two of these awesome plastic raised beds for $17, so a little over $8 each. They fit my area pretty much perfectly and actually look nice, so I saved a bunch of money.
The problem is they are 42x42" square. What is the most efficient way to plant them? The sun shines from (facing the beds) the front in the morning, left side afternoon, back at sundown. Basically it gets sun all day long except early morning hours.
I was thinking of planting beans/peas along the back, so it can climb on the fence, and then tomato or something else with shorter companion plants under like lettuce or something?
Sorry about the mess I'm still cleaning and we're using the wood to build a chicken coop.
