This weekend showed up at a lake and saw a sign posted about it being closed for dam maintenance. A couple rangers pulled up about the time I did so I asked them about it and they said I was okay to fish it, just to put my kayak in beyond a certain point where work was being done. They were bros and mentioned there being a ton of fish out there but couldn't tell for sure if it was sarcasm or not. I don't know if it was because of the low water, low fishing pressure or both but it was insane how many fish there were. I had the lake to myself and ended up just fishing from shore with my dogs.
It was hard to capture a picture of but the entire lake looked like a striper boil from trout taking bugs off the surface.
