The history of London and its parks is a fantastic example to learn from. People were so incredibly depressed from living in a lifeless industrial jungle and demanded more open space.
I have so many open areas near my apartment - marshes, meadows, wetlands, parks and small forests. Its my /out/ that I can experience when im not on holiday and I would be so miserable without it.
Obv uk is not a good example of urbanisation but my point still stands
