I'm surprised I see SAKs suggested so rarely. I own a dozen or more MTs and yet my SAKs get the most carry of anything. My favorite is the Explorer.
If you DO want a pliers-based tool, though, I also really like Victorinox. I loved my Swisstool Spirit until I lost it and keep meaning to replace it. I think it's the best EDC tool on the market unless you regularly need to use it with gloves on.
