>>1411987i think pic related is pretty much it right now for non pressurized, multi-liquid fuel pocket lighters. granted it doesn't do everything as well as Zippo does because it doesn't deploy as quickly for a quick cigarette lite as a Zippo does.
i've been designing an improved Zippo in my head the last couple of weeks actually. it would fix the evaporation issue along with the cam making the insert walk out issue and also the crummy hinge.
waterproofing would also be a nice improvement.
all while retaining the multi-fuel capability and speed of deployment of a Zippo.
i should really learn to use an appropriate 3d modeling program. of course, prototyping and testing is another big job to dial it in. though, figuring out how to efficiently manufacture a design to sell as a product is a far harder job, and one that requires capital and risk.
