Trail runners are literally made for running on trails. I would imagine that the amount of force and stresses a 170lb man running through the woods on roots and rocks is greatly more than one walking slowly and carrying a 25-30lb pack.
Thousands of people hike the AT/PCT/CDT in trail runners every year, but somehow you think they’re not up to the task.
