>>1656745A pocket field guide for the local area's wild edibles (one for plants and one for fungi.)
Ziplock baggies.
Netting bags(laundry bags for small to large amounts).
Plastic shopping bag of plastic shopping bags.
Roll of paper towels/newspaper.
Garden trowel.
Pruning/harvesting/mushroom knife.
2 pair of rubber gardening gloves.
Foam kneeling pad.
Poncho.
Bug spray/essential oils to keep biting insects away.
Mosquito netting for face.
Wide-brimmed straw sun hat.
Small pack for holding most everything.
This sort of stuff will help prolong outings and protect harvested materials. For example, live plants wrapped in slightly damp paper towels/newspaper then put into a ziploc bag/shopping bag and kept out of the sun will not wilt as bad as other methods of storing them. They can then last longer and have a better chance of being transplanted. Other things, plant tops tubers for drying may need netting to help begin the dehydrating process.
