It is now approaching the middle of the year. I have not been to the grocery store in close to two months. I get a zucchini the size of my forearm every single day from three plants. I cut one of the plants out to free up space in the garden, and it already shot a new runner out. It refuses to be cut. I am the guy who baked 11 loaves of zucchini bread, I desperately tried to give them away as Zucchini piles up. My kale, seemingly incensed by the vigor of the summer squash, decided to grow absolutely enormous. Every day I could harvest 4 or 5 huge leaves from the 3 plants.
Today I took all the leaves I could from the plants and combined it with basil pinchings, dill, parsley, and other herbs from my garden and baked a herb, kale, and zucchini pie.
