It is a very annoying weed because it grows these long thick roots that then just pop up a new shoot somewhere else. You can remove the above ground plant but if bits of root remain in the soil, and they will, it will just grow again from those. Basically you have to try to control them in an area larger than just the immediate space around your plants because they will just constantly try to colonize the garden beds by extending roots there. Removing all of the roots all at once would mean digging up the whole area and sifting through the soil. An underground barrier would prevent the roots from extending towards your garden but all in all the plant is a CUNT
