All of those TV presenters pretending to be surviving in isolation are really only surviving long enough to be rescued. Most of them deliberately seek to leave isolation in order to encounter a rescue and are supported by a crew ready to provide emergency aide if the need arrises. Even Les, the most self reliant of the crowd, is usually in pretty bad shape by the end of his week in isolation when he's recovered at some prearranged point.
So it seems just a little bit ludicrous to assume the people who watch their shows can suddenly survive better than they who came far better prepared and supported.
