Really depends on the amount of obedience training you're willing to commit to and your experience as a dog owner
With more training and exp Belgian Sheepdogs are the gold standard, as well as similar breeds like GSD, Dutch sheepdog, etc
With less training you need a more mellow breed, like rough collie if you're into sheepdogs
If you specifically want to hunt it's a whole another story, there are sight-hounds, scent-hounds, bear killing breeds, small game breeds, etc.
If you've never had a dog before, I recommend a rough collie, they're mellow and gentle but very trainable and have sheepdog stamina.
My family has had a lot of sheepdogs, I know first hand all the major breeds, me personnally I've had a male belgian tervuren (passed recently) and now I have a rough collie girl.
