>>1113292I've worked in the outback for a few years doing remote mining exploration work. Here are some things we used to have on our landcruisers:
> two spare tires minimum> puncture repair kit (the self-vulcanising plug type)> air compressor> recovery equipment/winch> satellite phone> HEMA outback paper maps> good mapping app on phone/tablet (HEMA Explorer is good)> at least 50L drinking water in jerry can> at least 50L fuel on hand> usual food supplies> full toolkit with complete socket/spanner set, rags, cable ties, pliers, screwdrivers, fencing wire, hammers, hack saws, jacks, spare fuses, electrical toolkit with soldering gear, spare engine fluids (oil, hydraulic, coolant).Lastly be sure to let people know where you're headed and ask locals for updates on road conditions. Don't take silly risks and you'll be right as rain.
