I've heard it doesn't actually repel mosquitos but it does kill them when they land, correct?
Seems better for tick prevention, but I've never really had a problem with ticks here.

I don't tree plant, but I do work outside all year and am a mosquito magnet for some reason.
Gf is completely immune... They'll swarm but they barely land on her.
I have a theory, her senpai has been in Canada for hundreds of years while my senpai were in Italy for hundreds of years. I think I'm just tastier.
Horse flies are the worst, they're relentless.

Anyway, I wear loose fitting, tightly woven nylon clothes.
Long sleeve button up, collar popped and tucked into my headnet.
Full brim hat under the net to help keep it centred and away from my skin (pic version is my favorite, keeps away from your skin and those fucks away from your ears)
Loose fitting nylon pants.
Wool socks from Costco all year round.
If it's real bad, I put my rain pants + jacket on. I'd rather sweat to death than get eaten alive.

Needless to say, I go on a lot of canoe trips... Atleast you get a break when you're paddling decent sized lakes.

Yup.
Head net, long sleeves, pants.
Fires at camp help keep them away a bit, always have one burning/smoking.

I try to avoid spray as much as possible, DEET damages synthetic materials. If I need to, I'll use icaridin on my hands/face.

More canoe trips when the bugs are bad, keep to bigger lakes, try to camp in spots with lots of wind/sun. Tent door facing toward the wind.
