>>1263707I've been using leather trigger mitts with milsurp wool liners in them for the past few winters and I'm honestly super impressed at how well they work. They're pretty water resistant as is, but oiling them would make them even better. They also keep my hands warm down til like -30C once you throw away the thinsulate liners they come with and put in the wool ones. Only issue is that they might be too bulky by your standards.
I got mine from a guy who got them working on an oil rig in northern Alberta, but pic related are German army mitts and they're the closest thing I can find to them on the internet. No idea where to get the liners since I just got mine at some hole in the wall outdoors store though.
