>>2174680Straight up! In some parts of the world it's grown purposefully as a. Same with day lilly, almost no one seems to know how delicious it is. The shoots in spring are like tender leeks and the flowers are like sweet buttery lettuce. From oxalis/woodsorrel to burdock, plantain, lambs quarters, dandelion, nettles etc etc many of the plants we call weeds are actually more nutritious than the plants we're growing on purpose. They just don't appeal to the pallet of some, particularly more modern people who have eaten mostly processed, sweetened products. They taste something like even young dandelion leaf and gag, but it's because they've never tasted natural food. The natural world is brimming with food already, you just need to learn what's what and how to make what's abundant edible.
And for real, try either a flower the day it blooms or a pod that will bloom the next day of a day lilly. If you never have, you are in for a genuine treat.
