Just because you like sucking the gov'ts cock doesn't mean it makes you any safer (as the post 9/11 world can illustrate) and in a supposed "liberal democracy" that flies in the fucking face of the point of gov't: to ensure the rights of all individuals are protected and promoting the common good and safety. Especially when you're dealing with non-elected bureaucrats who only seek to enrich themselves, which all modern democracies are infested with. There's definitely room for gov't in society, but there is such a thing as too much of it as well.
