At first I was like "I'm too old to re-learn to walk" but now I like them even on level dirt. Started with $12.99 pair from Ebay but now using fancy $25 pair from Amazon at half the weight and better function.
Tried the non-spring tip from Walmart and didn't like. Spring tip is way to go, and reason I haven't got more expensive poles.
Biggest gripe is having your hands in straps. To get the straps right they are pretty snug so its a chore everytime you want to do something with pole-free hands.
Always bantz with anyone passing on horseback, otherwise the horse might freak out if they ain't used to being near Pole-People.
