Bros I've been humbled by the trail, got caught in a storm with strong winds and rain without any rain gear and already late on the day, only way to stay warm was to keep going, the feet got drenched and eventually developed some pretty big blisters.
Tried to keep going the next day but my feet were fucked and I couldn't put any serious distance daily and therefore it had no point continuing the trip if I was to hike less than 20km a day so I accepted my losses and went home.
I'm pretty bummed that I quit but it is what it is, the trail and weather proved to be much harder than I was expecting, my gear and footwear choices were also far from ideal since even before the blisters I was getting my feet rekt by torns that my lightweight, thin runners couldn't offer much protection against.
It was a nice learning experience though and I still got to do almost 100km, be /out/ for a couple days, see some cool views and wild animals so I'm pretty happy with that. Happy /out/ings to anyone who took the time to give me advice or read the thread.
