Okay lads I’m back from my Yellowstone snowshoe trip. I’ll unload a few pictures from my friend’s camera in a few days. It was my first winter backpack so I really tossed myself into the deep end. Overall, great trip—even saw a wolf herding some bison. Winter backpacking, at least in those temps, is 35% fun and 65% work; a lot of my time was spent boiling water, and the nights are pretty fucking cold, even in a -20 bag (got to be in the negatives a couple nights). I think it’s worth the trade-off, though. Let me know if anyone has any interest in doing a similar trip or has any questions—I’ll probably post a few pictures in the coming days.
