Not too exciting but I'll tell it anyways:
>camping at Myakka State Park near Sarasota, FL
>apparently the best untouched example of Florida Prairie in existence
>friends are really into getting high and stumbling around at night
>I bring a bottle of coke and rum
>walking through trails on the prairie
>pretty obvious there was recently a huge controlled burn
>one area has a sign telling us not to go in because area was just burned
>idontseeanycopsaround.xml
>stumbling around spotlighting armadillos with my friends retardedly powerful flashlight
>suddenly hear multiple whizzing noises
>all five of us drop to the ground
>no gunshots, but hear sounds as if small rounds were whizzing by/over us
>looking around for lights or anything
>total blackness
>whizzing stops
>chalk it up to being inebriated
>walkign around for 10 more minutes or so
>more whizzing, hit the dirt again
>stops
>decide to turn back
I'd say we were all just intoxicated, but we all heard and reacted to it at the exact same time. It was really terrifying for a bit, thinking someone could be shooting at you and it's just pitch black all around you.
Pic related, aforementioned sign.
