I've been growing sage, thyme, oregano, and smartweed (Polygonum punctatum). The thyme is doing really well. My only sage plant died. It sprouted this spring then promptly started going limp and eventually died. I had it shaded and watered, no clue what zapped it. I was reseeding the oregano, but nothing came up. Thankfully, the smartweed is one of those things you just can't kill easily. Easy to weed out, which is what most people do, but I use it as a spice. It has one hell of a spicy kick too.
