>>1062750I went foraging and found a bunch of cool shit. Pictured here is Sumac berries, Burdock roots, clover, a combination of blueberries and juneberries, and chicory flowers. Not in the picture were chicory roots, which I was roasting in the oven at the time.
I made Kinpira Gobo with the burdock, which was really tasty served alongside some stir fried beef and rice. The chicory I ground and added to coffee, which was...interesting. The sumac was turned into sumac-ade, which is delicious. The flowers were added to various baked goods for appearances sake.
All in all a pretty fun day in the woods. I also found a huge patch of first year burdock that I didn't dig up so I can go back next year and get the flower stalks after they shoot up in the spring.
