Most of the plants growth efforts are going into developing a root system. A 5 gal isn't appropriate until like, week 6 at the earliest. I run all of mine in 2 gallon pots.
You can veg for a long ass time to try to redress the balance but, in your case, I'd actually downsize to a 2 gallon then retransplant to 5 after a month.
