>>42753>>42851'bout damn time. I can't believe I've gone this long before finding a boundary waters /out/law. what time of the year was your 5 night trip?
if you're still around, can I ask what it was you did for work?
my first trip into the bwca was last year (5 night, 6 day trip in may), and I'm venturing in again this may for 7 days.
to stay relevant to the thread, on my trip last year I brought a tent, but only slept in it 3 out of the 5 nights. I wanted to prove to myself I could sleep outside with nothing but my sleeping bag. just a 30 dollar walmart mummy bag. I tied a bandana around my face to cover over my nose up to my eyes, and then pulled a beanie down over the bandana and tightened up the mummy bag so I wasn't exposed. it didn't rain the whole trip, and, since it was early in the season, bugs didn't bother me. I'm forgoing the tent this year for just a hammock and a tarp. partially to cut down on weight, and partially for the simplicity of it.
