>>541271>Gerber gives the product 25 years warranty'Free of defects in material and workmanship' means nothing. There's no way you can prove, or even know if there are impurieties in steel or if the blade not tempered properly. These are the most common reasons when a knife breaks. Of course in Gerber's case it can be anything.
>Esee gives lifetime warranty and costs 200+ dollars. If it so happens that ESEE breaks, they'll give you a new 200+ dollar knife no questions asked. The point is, it won't break. That's what you're paying for, not the warranty itself. The warranty is there because that's the only way to prove the product is well made. Whenever they replace the blade, they know the customer did something stupid. In this sense smart customers pay for stupidity of others, but this is how it has to be.
>30 - 60 dollars is not premium priceIt is, if you consider what you'll get. Yes, small ESEEs are overpriced, but many full size knives are not. You can get ESEE 3 for less than 100 dollars and you can't even compare that to any Gerber.
