When it comes to knife finishes, what are good choices?
I'm asking this as a home gamer, because I want to try and make my own knife as a project this summer. I know that with firearms, common stuff is to blue or parkerize steel to prevent corrosion, then you just keep the steel oiled up and it's basically good forever.
I read a bit about it, and those seem like some of the easiest options for what i could do at home. or maybe, i dunno, nickel plating it in a big electrolysis bath but that's kind of out of my pay grade.
