Since theres so many rockfags in the thread now, can anybody explain to me how dumb this idea is?
I recently watched a video on a research project that uses a CNN and a drone with a uv light and camera to autonomously find fossils. This got me wondering if it would potentially be possible to go out to my local gravel bars that I find arrowheads at with a UV light and have success. Ive read that high quality flints have a high fluorescence, and a decent number of the points here are made of such materials. Sure enough, I was able to find videos on youtube of rockhounds looking for rocks with UV lights. I bought a shitty one on amazon before learning that 395nm sucks, and thats what is in the picture. Ive got a 365nm one coming soon and I hope to have much better results.
