Ok tiller brainlet here, blogpost incoming.
I read the new self sufficient gardner, and I'm In 5b/6a southern michigan. I'd like some advise on grand scale design
Pic related is my lot, as you can see I have tilled some area, which was completely covered with Vines and weeds. There is a lot of Woody Vines, should I just burn these? Or can they compost. I got a shit load of free bricks with which I intend to lay pathways. I'm planning to plant around the white garage with raspberry and maybe cordoned pear in the future. I have no idea where to put my compost pile. I'd like to bury hose and irrigation stuff this year while it's all torn up, under the paths is the way, right? Is drip hose actually worth it? Or should I just run a hose to a spigot in the back?
As I said I will probably just till I. The grassy areas and plant a cover crop to till in next year. I'd like to go deep beds for everything. I have zero concern about ruining the entire backyard so please give me some time ideas to consider
