There needs to be a definitive guide for starting plants from seeds and cuttings attained from a local grocery store.
Like how you can start growing most brassica family plants just from cuttings (pic of a sprout of a Brussels sprout rooted in just water) or plant just about any part of watercress to get it to root and grow well. Potatoes and sweet potatoes are easy ones. Just wait until the sprout retardation chemical (if they have been sprayed with it) breaks down enough to sprout the eyes and go at it. Carrots are a bit different, you plant those and actually get a 2nd year adult plant that will flower (beautiful big white flowers!) and give you tons of seed. Garlic is easy, break up the bulb into cloves and plant. Pineapples you cut off the leafy top, peel up 1/2"-1" and put in water until the roots start then plant, at the end of 2 seasons the 1st fruit is ready to easy.
But, I'd like a big list of this stuff and a big image chart for it that is easily posted around the web. Just something that is an easy guide to print out or just to inspire people.
