the knife and scissors are also important for blister control, trimming the moleskin and lancing the blister if that's your thing (i've heard arguments for and against lancing, i won't get into them here. however in terms of the infection aspect of lancing a sharp knife is better than wearing it open on the inside of your sock)
so that's the benefits of having a regular, fairly cheap Swiss Army Classic.
