>>2464727>Men Among the RuinsNever saw them. There was an eviction notice of some sort (none of us speak slavsquat) nailed to the door of one of the big abandoned apartment complexes. Looked like the local police. There was newly installed barbed wire fencing around parts of the ruins. We could hear at least one person working on something on and off. Banging tool noises, that kind of stuff. There were no other noises there, so it was quite noticeable. It was very far from any farms or towns, and the closest trafficked road was dozens of kilometers away. We got there late in the afternoon by car (so we were presumably noticed immediately), set up camp (picrel), in a ruined hangar as far from the inhabited parts of the ruins and barely had time to explore before it got dark. We decided to just make a big campfire and drink vodka to steel our nerves, and stayed up pretty late, neither of us really wanting to imply that we should take shifts sleeping. Eventually, we just went to sleep. Next morning, we saw or heard no trace of them/him/it. No vehicles, no tracks leading in or out aside from ours (and the ground was muddy, so it'd be an easy thing to notice). We stayed the hell away from the barbed-wire-fenced inhabited part of the complex though. I still wonder what the hell was going on in that place.
