Just another vote for how awesome bowhunting is. I use a muzzleloader one week a season to fill the freezer with a doe tag. Besides that I am out with my bow even if it is gun season.
Nothing beats arrowing a deer (doe or buck) close enough to spit. I've had plenty of exciting hunts on the ground where the deer veered very close and had some intimate encounters.
And actually this last season my buck was with a bow from the ground before I even made it to my stand. He circled me oblivious and came within 15ft
