>>2221520I've used a South African repro belt/harness/load bearing rig with my FAL on the range before. Was a pretty utilitarian setup and surprisingly comfy when loaded down. As long as the materials are legitimate and the stitching competent, I wouldn't be scared to give it a go.

I've typically had kit with single-layer start shredding there after years of heavy loads and weathering. If you're ballin' on a budget it seems like a very good consideration.
