I've been using the minimus 10v1 from new balance for ~4 years. on my second pair, run 3 miles every week and hike through rough jungle terrain with them; they are great, but stepping in a puddle will get your feet soaked. A shame they don't make them anymore. Recently I bought the x ultra 3s GTX from salomon but only took them out hiking a couple times. I enjoy the waterproofing, though you get way less feel and are twice as heavy.
