I don't have a ton of experience fishing rivers, but when I was younger almost every weeknd we would go out for walleye and whatever else would bite. We used these river rigs that were like pic related crossed with a Lindy Rig. They had 2 or 3 hooks on them and blades and beads. Throw a minnow on each hook and wait. Never failed.
I guess otherwise with lures just follow the basic rules of river fishing and find a good spot. Cast upstream, find the spots with little to no current and go along the edge of those.
