them taking you to productive spots, rigging, baiting, how to do this and that is what guides do. that is their job to get you on fish so they use you as an extension of themselves and what they would be doing.
lodge guides become your buddy. vacation guides are usually all business working for that tip. you ever hire one? I hired one years ago in belize that I still keep up with and consider a friend. I guess Im biased but Ive only had one bad guide that I didnt like and that was because he added 4 high dollar passengers to a boat I chartered by myself. he told them I was the walk on. we caught fish but it wasnt what I had planned, fishing with 2 guys and their gf's even if it was cheaper.
