I probably take these docks for granted, lol. There's a smaller lake north of me (same park and watershed) but it's catch-release only because it's prime spawning grounds for most the species here. The railing on those piers is anywhere from 3-4'.
Main lake where I caught this guy though, there's like 10 fishing/boat launch piers around the entire thing, some complete with benches and tables. They're pretty pressured, but what they lack in quantity they supposedly make up for in quality, according to all the other anglers I've spoken to out here.
One of the park staff members actually came out today and fished next to me on his break, said they wanted to put more hard cover in around the docks for the fish, and also for the turtles to have more basking area. It's been in the talks for the last two years though it seems. Hope they go through with it.
