I recently moved to Washington state, and what the fuck? Why are like all of the 4x4 trails closed?
I've now seen dozens of what used to be off-road trails all gated with signs saying saying shit like "authorized vehicles only" or "closed to motor vehicle use" often right next to signs requiring a Discover Pass. What good is the pass if the trails close anyway?
These are often trails that look like typical dirt roads and there's often no parking at the "trailheads", so I can't imagine they'd make decent hiking or biking trails anyway, so what gives?
Is there no off-roading in this state aside from the few ORV parks? I just want to get out into the wilderness to do some exploring and camping in my rig. Everyone bitches about Colorado, where I came from, but at least back there there was a state official app (
trails.colorado.gov AKA COTREX) with good amount of trails, and gates were typically just seasonal.
