I just mark an "x" rating next to the pound test on the label and call it a day. Its worth noting that i mostly fish warm water, but i do use it for trout and steelhead and it works fine. You can also get flouro if you want to be autistic about it, it will sink nymphs better, but i just carry splitshot if i need to get my fly down that badly.
