>>1169287>>1169303>>1172384Wow, that sucks. My cubscouts in the 1980s did all sorts of stuff. We mostly met in the local parks and learned about all the flora and how to use it. The scouts even had a couple of their own parks so we could bushcraft. We also had a few huge meetings with many troops where we did class after class learning things and trying them at different stations. Those were week long events with 1,000s of cub scouts and boy scouts. When it was winter and the evenings were too dark to be outside we'd meet in the local church basement and do all the stuff for merit badges like cooking, first aid, life saving & emergency preparedness, CB communications operations, firearms training & safety, Morse code, flag code, international maritime signal flags, etc.
The scout leaders were all EMSs, volunteer firefighters, and ex-military.
