Okay, time for my last dump: some Kentucky and Virginia pics.
Kentucky was a hilly state, with a lot of loose dogs. Also, many of the residents didn't speak English. They sort of grunted at each other, and somehow understood.
The dogs would hang out by houses and then chase anything they perceived as a threat that passed by, including me. I had two of them jump and collide with my panniers, and dozens of others bark and bear their teeth. Some of them backed off when yelled at, but others didn't. By the end, I felt no remorse when I saw the occasional dog carcass in the road.
