The problem isn't gays, its gay culture. People forming the bulk of their identity around it and making it everyone else's business.
its like "gamers" they do the same shit, though to a lesser extent (never seen a gamer pride parade) and if I saw an article talking about how important it was for gamers to hike more, and talking about the ideal gamer outdoors loadout, I would cringe my guts into dust and tell them to fuck off.
