>>1220036yeah, i had the same realisation of how light it is my first picking mine up. and also yeah, a slow action rod is called slow action for a reason, you really have to slow down your casting stroke. it was nice to learn on glass though, it's really forgiving and loads super easy. honestly i would have considered overlining it to a 3 weight line, just to get more control in close. though i tried the true-to-weight 3 weight china line on my 2 weight and it overloaded the rod more than i liked and costed me distance, which given mine is mostly harassing stillwater bluegill isn't good for me.
>>1220040>the resident mentorthat's the loosest use of the word "mentor" i've ever heard lol. i'm just some nit-wit trip fag who pretends to know more than he does (mostly because i read constantly on the subject so i have more technical knowledge than practical)
also, about the non fly fags getting annoyed: it's the fishing general. that means all kinds of fishing. they're free to make a dink-bass only thread if they want, but until they do, they just have to put up with our fly-faggotry. also about the guy in the shop, i think i know the face he made, because i'm pretty sure the guy who sold me the echo base 2/3 made the same face because i was having the same conversation with him about the same fish in the same kind of water.
>pic related, my PB creek chub. 9.5-10 inches, and his mouth was almost the size of a nickel. got him on a dead drifted #12 pheasant tail in a creek about 10 feet wide right where two creeks about 4 feet wide joined in to one creek
