I have a diamond stone bench set, but I only use that to fix damage or to set a proper edge on a knife that came with a shit edge from the factory. Almost all the knives I buy though come with great edges from the factory so all I have to do is maintain them with the ceramic. Unlike a steel hone, ceramic actually sharpens a little instead of just realigning the edge...it probably is equivalent to about 1200grit. After using one of my knives all day I'll just hit it 5-10 times each side alternating and it keeps it razor sharp.
