>>1718048Probably number one is muh tism, then a perfect storm of factors. 2008 recession instantly wiped out my business. I had gone into debt to start it, it was growing well, pretty successful, was paying down the debt as able, then it hit and I had nothing but the debt.
I applied for many jobs during that time, and there was incredible competition, especially in a rural area like mine. The best I could find after about a year was fast food. By then my debts were already in collections to boot.
By the time society returned to normalcy the tech had changed for my business so I would be required to reinvest all over again. I wound up getting a much better paying job as a cook in an independent local restaurant, but by then my wife had decided to announce divorce. Once that came I just said fuck it and invested in outdoor gear and became a hobo once our son went off to college. I'm done with the societal shitshow.
